While spending some time with the Lord I saw a vision, a picture followed by a word from God I feel is going deeply impact many women. There is miraculous breakthrough and healing in these words. I truly believe emotional and physical wounds will be healed as this is read.
I saw a little girl who appeared to be around eight years old. Her dark eyes were wide, fear rolling through them like clouds while her mouth was caught between uncertainty and complete, tight-lipped resistance.
Her small body was half-turned, ready to run as visible heaviness and oppression pushed down on her shoulders. She hovered there, a timid prisoner of all she’d seen and experienced.
But then Jesus was there and he was easing himself to his knees. There was a smile on his face. It wasn’t exaggerated but subtle and understanding. One that let her know that he was aware of everything she’d been through. It was a smile that also urged her to believe it would be okay, that he hadn’t come empty handed but with the full power of his healing love.
This is what I heard him say:
“It’s me. You’ve known me, felt my presence, and even seen me in your dreams. You weren’t sure if I was real, that it was impossible for anything to make you feel as safe and loved as I did, as I do. The terrible things that happened to you and around you were a blindfold around your heart and eyes. You couldn’t see me; you didn’t know how. But now I want you to look into my eyes and understand how much I love you, that I, and everything about me, is real.
“I’m here to lead you to the freedom you’ve always wanted, the liberty that’s seemed like a fantasy. If you take my hand, I’ll shatter the door of your cage. I know how much you’ve suffered and it breaks my heart. But it doesn’t have to end in despair. I am hope and I am freedom. Look at my hands. There’s healing in them and love in my heart that will melt away all of your fear.
“I know it’s hard for you to trust. You said you never would again but I want you hear me when I say it’s safe, that I’m safe. If you come to me, I’ll never drop you, never treat you the way others have. I will be your shield and heal the pain, the wounds that have never quite closed.
“The years of your youth were stolen and your tears flowed in streams with my own. You needed to protect yourself and you did so by hardening your heart into an impenetrable fortress. It’s all you knew how to do but I’m here with a new way. Let my love cascade over your heart and soften the defenses.
“I’ve given you wings to fly, sparkling shoes to dance, and a shimmering gown to twirl. You were never meant for the shadows your hiding in, the ones you retreat to when you feel at risk. They aren’t preserving you but keeping you from being able to truly live. Take a small step forward so you can feel and know just how much I love you, just how precious you are to me.
“The dreams and passions of your youth are alive, they haven’t died. They show the wear of hard years but just one touch of my hand, just one breath from my lungs and they are restored to their brilliance.
“I have brought renewal to your door. You’ve felt much older than your current years and now it’s time to be stirred by the energy of a free child. I’m ordering the weariness in your bones and muscles to leave. And it must obey! I’m lifting your face and clearing your eyes.
“You used to long for a savior, a prince who would ride up and whisk you away to paradise. You gave up but here I am, white horse in all, and you’re the most beautiful princess I have ever seen.
“I’m asking you to take a chance, to risk yourself for me. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Let your fears fall away as you slip your hand into mine. I chose you from the beginning and every single day since. You are my beloved; you are my precious bride.”
